This style of red flambe-inspired glaze was popular with Italian ceramic workshops in the 1960s and 1970s and required considerable skill to achieve. The interior of the bowl is glazed in the same vivid red, with an unglazed ring where the lid rests.\n\nThe piece is marked on the base: Italy, model number 67166, and what appears to be a maker's mark partially obscured by the glaze.
