A charming vintage wicker duck basket, handwoven in dark brown rattan with a carved wooden beak and a neatly finished lighter natural border along the rim and base ring.
The duck has a low, compact silhouette with the head tucked close to the body and a small woven tail piece at the back.
The wide, oval open basket body makes it a very practical display piece for fruit, eggs, bread rolls, or small decorative items.
The construction is neat and even throughout, with a sturdy woven floor and a well-finished rim.
This is the same classic style of figural animal basket produced in Asia for the European and American market from the 1960s through the 1980s. It pairs beautifully with farmhouse, country, or natural home interiors.
