A bold and very graphic little vase by Bay Keramik, West Germany, dating to the 1960s. The cylindrical form sits on a narrow base and opens slightly at the top with a neat outward-flared rim.
The entire exterior is covered in a deeply impressed repeating relief pattern of pointed arch and teardrop forms, over which a vivid red-orange glaze has been applied. Dark black-brown glaze pools into the recesses of the relief, creating striking contrast and shadow that makes the pattern pop at every angle. The interior is glazed in deep dark brown-black.
This is a compact but visually confident piece that earns its place on any shelf. The model number 503-14 is stamped on the black-glazed base, together with the W. Germany mark. Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
