A complete set of eight breakfast plates from the Kahla Duett series, made by VEB Kahla in Thuringia, East Germany, most likely during the 1960s or 1970s. White porcelain with the characteristic embossed circle border that runs around the rim, the same design detail that ties together the entire Duett collection.
These are the smaller plates in the Duett range, ideal for breakfast, lunch, dessert, or as a side plate on a fully set Duett table. The clean white glaze works beautifully alongside the cobalt blue pieces in the series, and equally well as standalone everyday tableware.
One plate in the set carries the original Kahla Duett blue crown backstamp on the underside, confirming the series. The remaining plates were originally identified by paper stickers, which have been lost over the years
They are part of a larger Duett collection listed separately in this shop, so combining with other pieces is easy.
Dimensions per plate: diameter 19 cm / 7.5 inches, height 1.7 cm / 0.7 inches. Total weight of the set: 2594 g / 91.5 oz.
Condition: very good vintage condition, no chips, no cracks. Some plates show light cutlery marks on the surface, consistent with normal use and age.
