There is a quiet drama to this piece that is hard to ignore. Three heavy hand-textured iron legs rise from the floor and converge into a single point, topped with a wide shallow bowl and a central candle spike. The silhouette is graphic and architectural, something between a piece of sculpture and a functioning object, which is precisely what makes it so appealing.
The bowl shows a warm, mottled golden patina on the interior from years of candle use, a beautiful contrast against the dark forged iron of the base. The bowl is removable, making the piece easy to clean and practical to use. The hammered texture across all surfaces is hand-worked throughout, with no two marks exactly alike.
No maker‘s mark is visible. The construction and aesthetic are consistent with European studio craft production from the 1970s.
