This is a truly exceptional handmade ceramic wall mirror, dating to the 1960s or early 1970s. The circular frame is built up from dozens of individually hand-modelled ceramic elements: flowers, birds, leaves, berries, and scrolling tendrils, each attached to twisted wire stems so that the composition radiates outward with a wonderfully organic, three-dimensional energy.
The overall form is strongly reminiscent of the Árbol de la Vida tradition, the Tree of Life, a style of ceramic folk art most closely associated with Metepec in Mexico but also produced by studio ceramicists across Europe during this period. The piece carries no signature or maker‘s mark, so its precise origin cannot be confirmed.
The glazework shifts between warm amber and burnt ochre on the larger leaf and petal forms, and a deep charcoal green on the daisy-like blossoms and berry clusters, with a rich gloss that catches the light beautifully. The back is fitted with wire for hanging.

The central mirror glass is approximately 10 cm / 3.9 inches in diameter.
Condition: very good vintage condition. All ceramic elements and wire stems are intact. The glaze shows minor age-consistent surface variation and crazing, entirely in keeping with a handmade piece of this era. No chips or cracks to report.
