Details
This charming vintage soup tureen was made by W. H. Grindley & Co. in Staffordshire, England, and dates to approximately 1936–1954, as confirmed by the classic Grindley sailboat-in-frame backstamp on the base.

The tureen sits on a footed base and features two sculptural loop handles decorated with hand-painted blue forget-me-not style flowers and gold accents.
The domed lid is finished with a beautifully detailed flower knob, with a raised petal surround, a vivid cobalt blue beaded centre, and gold gilding, with matching blue petal motifs painted around the top of the lid. A crisp blue line encircles both the lid and the body.
The rims are trimmed with gold. The ladle notch is incorporated into the lid rim. The glaze is a warm creamy ivory throughout, inside and out.
This is a generous family-sized tureen, ideal for serving soup, stew, or casserole at the table in style, and it makes a wonderful display piece in a kitchen or dresser.

Condition: Good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. The gold trim shows some wear and small losses, as visible in the photos. No chips or cracks noted. Please zoom in on all photos and feel free to message with any questions before purchasing.
