A substantial and striking vase by Jasba, one of the great names in West German mid-century ceramics. The model number 905-10-22 is impressed into the fully glazed black base.
The decoration is built around a wide central relief band in vivid apple green, featuring bold abstract leaf and tulip-like motifs in textured black against the bright glaze — graphic and confident.
Above and below, the body transitions through a mottled sandy grey to deep gloss black at the rim and foot, giving the piece a strong, layered composition.
The form is a classic upright cylinder with a gently rolled lip, and the weight of this vase — nearly 850 grams — speaks to the quality of the stoneware. No chips or cracks, good vintage condition throughout.
