This is a seriously textural piece — a conical stoneware pitcher vase by Jopeko, West Germany, covered in their dramatic "Paris" lava glaze. The surface is volcanic and deeply pitted, shifting between dark charcoal, warm brown, and flashes of sandy beige where the glaze pools and craters. The small loop handle sits low on the body, adding to the primitive, almost ancient quality of the piece.
Model 614/18 is stamped on the base alongside the Jopeko mark, and the unglazed foot ring reveals the dense, dark stoneware body underneath. Jopeko's Paris glaze is one of their most sought-after finishes among fat lava collectors, and this example is in excellent condition with a fully intact glaze surface.
