A beautifully understated piece of Danish design. This five-arm candelabra by Lüthje Denmark combines a slender black iron bar with five turned teak bobeches, each topped with a small brass cup.
The base is a smooth, organically shaped oval in teak, giving the whole piece a wonderfully grounded, sculptural quality.
The design is quintessentially 1960s Scandinavian: clean lines, natural materials, elegant simplicity. It looks just as good on a dinner table as it does on a sideboard or shelf. The iron bar spans the width generously, creating that satisfying horizontal balance that Danish mid-century pieces do so well.
Condition is very good for its age. The teak shows natural patina and minor wear consistent with use, the brass cups have a lovely aged tone, and the iron is intact. No cracks or damage to the wood.
