This slender ewer has a silhouette unlike anything else in this collection: a flattened oval body that tapers dramatically upward into a long angular neck, with a wide swept spout and a looped handle. It looks like it could hold olive oil as comfortably as flowers. The narrow neck opening has been fitted with a cork stopper for display purposes; the cork is not original to the piece.
The front panel features a seahorse in relief, its segmented body picked out in olive green against the sky-blue glaze, curling tail downward along a central green stripe. The flanking panels carry alternating relief bands of dark navy dotted texture and yellow-green diamond lattice, the same decorative language seen on the companion round jug from this collection. Together they almost certainly come from the same atelier.
The glaze throughout is a clear, cheerful sky blue, bright and glossy. The base carries the hand-incised mark 83, no country stamp or further identification. Based on style and the known provenance of this collection, Malta Italy, circa 1960s. The exact atelier remains unidentified despite research.
This pitcher comes from a private collection originally assembled in Italy and brought to a small shop in Konstanz, Germany. More pieces from this same collection are available in the shop.

Eine einzelne schlanke Karaffe aus derselben Privatsammlung, ursprünglich in Malta zusammengetragen und später in einem kleinen Laden in Konstanz angeboten. Die flache Ovalform mit langem Hals, geschwungenem Ausguss und Henkel ist ungewöhnlich und elegant. Das Reliefdekor zeigt ein Seepferdchen in Olivgrün auf Himmelblau, flankiert von Bändern mit Punkten und Rautenmuster. Der Korken ist nicht original, sondern wurde zur Präsentation hinzugefügt. Bodenmarke 83, kein Herstellernachweis, ca. 1960er Jahre.
