A striking and highly collectible Mdina studio glass vase from the early 1970s, designed during the Blue Summer, also known as Sand and Sea period.
Unlike many Blue Summer pieces that lean strongly blue, this example shows a fascinating colour balance where golden yellow has blended into emerald green tones, with deep ocean blue pooling in the base. The result is a luminous sea glass effect that shifts beautifully in the light.
The organic form, thick glass walls and internal swirling patterns are characteristic of early Mdina production under Michael Harris in Malta. Each piece was hand formed, making every example unique.
Signed to the base.
This is not just decorative glass, it is a sculptural studio piece with strong collector appeal.

Diese signierte Mdina Glasvase aus den frühen 1970er Jahren stammt aus der Blue Summer beziehungsweise Sand and Sea Phase. Besonders ist hier die außergewöhnliche Farbwirkung, bei der sich Gelb und Blau zu leuchtenden Grüntönen verbinden, mit dunklem Blau im Sockel. Ein handgefertigtes Studio Glas Objekt mit Sammlerwert und starker Ausstrahlung.
