This one has real presence. A large, heavily hand-crafted ceramic wall relief depicting two horses in full gallop, modelled with expressive energy and finished in a rich copper-brown glaze that catches the light differently from every angle.
The surface texture is deeply worked throughout, with the background showing a vigorous, almost windswept pattern that reinforces the sense of movement.
The horses themselves are sculpted in high relief, their manes and muscles rendered with confident, gestural marks.
The piece dates to 1974, with the year written in marker on the back. It has an integrated ceramic hanging hook fired into the back, and the reverse shows the raw, unglazed ceramic body. There is no maker‘s name or signature, which is typical of private studio work of this era, particularly from Central European workshop traditions of the 1970s where individual potters often dated but did not mark their pieces.
At 4.4 kg and 33 x 28.5 cm, this is a substantial wall piece that makes a real statement.

Condition is good for its age. There are minor chips along the lower edge of the ceramic body, and a patch of glaze loss on the left edge just above the tail of the rear horse, all visible in the photos and consistent with age and handling. No further damage to the front glaze surface.
