A charming and complete coffee table set from the Kahla Duett series, made by VEB Kahla in Thuringia, East Germany, most likely during the 1960s or 1970s. Sugar bowl with white lid, creamer, and a matching white rectangular tray, all in the iconic Duett combination of deep cobalt blue and white porcelain with the characteristic embossed circle pattern.
The set sits together perfectly on the tray, which has the same gentle curved corners as the other white Duett pieces.
The sugar bowl has a round white knob lid, and the creamer has a neat little spout and comfortable handle.
Together they make a complete and ready-to-use coffee table set that also pairs beautifully with the cobalt blue pots and cups in the series.
The sugar bowl and creamer carry no printed backstamp; like many Duett pieces, they were originally identified by paper stickers. The tray has an impressed mold number 23 on the underside.
They are part of a larger Duett collection listed separately in this shop, so combining with other pieces is easy.
Tray dimensions: length 25.5 cm / 10 inches, width 14 cm / 5.5 inches, height 2.4 cm / 0.9 inches.
Creamer dimensions: height 7.2 cm / 2.8 inches, width 6.7 cm / 2.6 inches, length including spout 10.7 cm / 4.2 inches.
Sugar bowl dimensions: height 7.5 cm / 3 inches, diameter 9 cm / 3.5 inches.
Total weight of the set: 907 g / 32 oz.
Condition: very good vintage condition, no chips, no cracks, light traces of use consistent with age.
