This substantial vintage wall cross is cast in solid bronze and features five beautifully detailed relief medallions depicting key scenes from the life of Christ: the Annunciation (top), the Nativity (bottom), the Adoration of the Magi (left), the Crucifixion (centre), and the Resurrection (right). Each medallion is bordered by a beaded frame and rendered with impressive detail and clarity, in a style characteristic of mid-century European religious bronze casting. The back is equally well finished, with a hanging ring and three small brass standoff bolts that hold the cross slightly away from the wall, giving it a three-dimensional presence when displayed. A cast number is visible on the reverse. The warm golden brown patina is beautiful and consistent throughout.
