A charming and complete set of seven hand crafted stoneware leaf shaped dishes, consisting of one large serving dish and six matching smaller dishes. Each piece is shaped in the form of a maple or plane tree leaf with beautifully detailed impressed veining on the inside.
The interior carries a rich reactive glaze in speckled olive, gold and dark brown tones that pools and shifts naturally around the central veins, while the exterior is left in an unglazed warm red brown stoneware with a fine cross hatched texture. The pieces nest and stack neatly together.
All seven pieces carry the mark "H6" impressed into the base, likely a model or studio mark. The set is in good vintage condition with the honest character typical of studio ceramics consistent with European studio ceramics from the 1970s.
These versatile dishes work beautifully as snack or nibble bowls, jewellery or trinket dishes, or as a decorative set for autumn table styling.
Dimensions of the large dish: 23.5 x 23 cm (9.3 x 9.1 inches). Dimensions of the small dishes: 12 x 11.5 cm (4.7 x 4.5 inches). Total weight of the set: 1400 g.
