A generously sized vintage wicker duck basket, handwoven in dark brown rattan with a carved wooden beak and a neatly finished lighter border along the rim and oval base ring. The duck has a long, elegantly curved neck rising from a wide, deep open basket body, giving it a graceful silhouette. The tail curves upward at the back as a decorative flourish.
The open weave allows plenty of air circulation, making this a lovely display piece for fruit, bread, eggs, or decorative items on a kitchen counter or dining table.
The construction uses a slightly heavier gauge rattan than the finer woven examples of this type, giving the piece a sturdy, substantial feel. Please note that a few short bamboo binding pins are visible at the base of the neck where the head is attached (visible in photo 3) as expected for a piece of this vintage.
This is the same classic style of figural animal basket produced in Asia for the European and American market from the 1960s through the 1980s, and it fits beautifully in farmhouse, country, or natural home interiors.

Dieser großzügig dimensionierte Entenkorb aus dunkelbraunem Rattan mit geschwungenem Hals, hellem Randgeflecht und geschnitztem Holzschnabel ist ein typisches Beispiel der handgefertigten Tierkörbe aus den 1960er bis 1980er-Jahren. Der weite, tiefe Korb eignet sich hervorragend als dekorative Ablage für Obst, Brot oder Eier. Bitte beachten: Am Halsansatz sind einige kurze Bambusstifte sichtbar (Foto 3), und der Innenbereich zeigt leichten Staub vom Alter; strukturell ist der Korb vollständig intakt.
